Addressed to the Leader of the Opposition LCO Latham and signed by (James Allan - aka Jim) Mollison.

Characteristics:

  • heading is in upper and lower case serif letters - capitals are 8 mm high;
  • schedule numer has been moved to the left of the date stamp box.

NOTE: Jim Mollison was married to Amy Johnson - he proposed to her just 8 hours after they met and while he was piloting a commercial flight. Flying together or solo, the "Flying Sweetheatrs" - as they became known - established many aviation records.

Mollison arrived at Croydon on 6 August after flying from Australia in under nine days He beat the record set up by C. W. A. Scott by two days.

He flew a D. H. Moth

An Australian Kangaroo was taken from Australia House, London, to meet him.
